New Years Eve, 2017 - I wanted to take more portraits. I wanted a project, a challenge. Something that appeals to me and might just appeal to others.
A photo a day for 7 years. Humans of New York. Awesome ideas. Something like that but allows me to show people what makes me a good photographer - how I interact with others, an eye for detail and my passion for people.
So I decided to start the Bristol Portrait Project. 20 Questions (19 + 1 activity), designed to evoke emotional responses, to tease out a story, a memory or an opinion in front of a camera, a situation most of us feel uncomfortable with. A different person every week. The more people I photograph, the more I can compare how we all react.
I'll keep the questions to myself, my subjects responses to myself for now. We communicate with more than just words, if this project can show that while taking different, interesting portraits - then that's exactly what I'm looking for.
